We currently have crews raising manhole lids on Fayette St. and they will be doing a couple on Piper Lame also. There is also a crew preparing South 365th (the work camp road) for oil and chip, the road may be closed intermittently but the work camp will be accessible from one end or the other. The road is being scarified up and will be gravel for a few weeks until they come to oil and chip it. Please be patient while we are making improvements. Samples for the area under the boil are at the lab and we are awaiting results. We will post again as soon as we can lift the boil order.

SUBJECT: Boil Order AFFECTED AREA: (West Pittsfield) Washington St. from 365th St. East to Clinton St, from Clinton St. South to Bear Ct. This includes All Streets South of W. Washington that are West of Clinton St. (See attached Map) At about 3:30 PM on August 19, 2023, the City of Pittsfield water system in the affected area lost pressure due to a water main break around 1299 W. Washington St. Due to the location of the break the West Water Tower needed to be shut down to repair the main. This caused the affected area of the city to lose volume and fall below the 20-psi threshold. The BOIL ORDER will remain in effect until laboratory sampling confirms that water quality has been fully restored. You will receive a notification at that time.

Boil Order Lifted
The City will be smoking the sewer main just South of the Square to check for bad connections on a private line. We will start at approximately 12:30PM today and be completed within an hour if you notice anything in the area during that timeframe please let us know. It could mean there is an issue with your sewer. The smoke we use is a theatrical smoke and shouldn't pose any issues if it gets inside a building. It would just need to be aired out.
