Addendum to the Tornado Siren Bid Specs for The City of Pittsfield
Some bidders have stated that they are wanting to purchase the pole and have it installed by a third party such as a local power company. Such as IEC. Please make note on the bid if you choose to utilize this option. Also, All contracts for the construction of Public Works are subject to the Illinois Prevailing Wage Act(820 ILCS 130/1-12)

Attention Bid Notice
The City of Pittsfield is seeking bids for the installation of three (3) outdoor tornado warning sirens. The project shall consist of two (2) separate bids.
Bid No. 1 shall consist of the installation of one (1) tornado warning siren at the downtown water tower located in the 100 block of West Adams Street. This installation is intended to replace a previously installed siren that was damaged and removed during maintenance to the water tower.
Bid No. 2 shall consist of the installation of two (2) new tornado warning sirens: one located at the water tower in the 1300 block of West Washington Street (behind Pike Co. Water Dist. office), and one located at the ball diamond at Lake Pittsfield. The purpose of these two new sirens is to increase coverage.
Bids shall include the total installation price, which shall include all equipment, electrical work, supplies, labor, poles, and pole installation. Bids shall also include a coverage map to ensure the intended areas are adequately served. Siren shall be sized appropriately to provide the optimal coverage for each site.
Bidders shall include all equipment specifications and warranty information with their bid. Bidders shall also provide a project timeline indicating when the work could start and be completed once awarded. Proof of insurance shall be provided with the bid.

Bids shall be submitted no later May 15th, 2026, by 4PM to City Hall located at 215 N. Monroe in Pittsfield.
