The 300 Block of West Adams Street, from North West Street to Mississippi will be closed today, 10/4/23, from 8:30 am - 11:00 am. The remainder of the day and tomorrow traffic will be reduced to one lane.
Fayette Street from Clinton Street to Franklin Street will be reduced to one lane of traffic from 1:00 pm to 4:00 pm today, September 25, 2023.

The 400 Block of South Illinois Street (from Morrison Street to Clare Street) will be temporarily closed for Street Repair today, September 25, 2023 from 10 am to 12 pm
The City of Pittsfield is accepting bids for the Pittsfield Penstone Municipal Airport Property Farm Rental.
The City of Pittsfield invites interested and qualified individuals or organizations to submit bids for the rental of approximately 184 acres of farmland located at the Pittsfield Penstone Airport property.
Bid specifications, property description and photographs, and sample lease agreement may be picked up at City Hall, 215 North Monroe Street, Pittsfield, IL 62363.
Interested parties are required to submit their bids by September 29, 2023 at 3:00 p.m. Bids should be submitted in a sealed envelope clearly marked “Airport Property Farm Rental Bid”.
The City of Pittsfield reserves the right to accept or reject any and all bids, to waive technicalities or formalities, and to make awards as deemed in the best interest of the municipality.

The disc golf course on the East side of the lake will be closed today from approximately 4-6 this afternoon for the High School Cross County Meet
If you are using the lake this afternoon please don't park on the running path. It starts near the disc golf parking lot and goes to the kayak launch the circles back to the starting area.

The City brush pile will be closing today, September 18, 2023, and will remain closed until harvest is complete.
A drive-thru flu clinic will be held Saturday, September 23 from 10am - 12pm at the Pike County Highway Department Building (former JDL Building #4)

The boil order issued September 11, 2023, affecting Archer St. West to Kitchen Seed Company and from Washington St. South to the city limits, has been lifted. Laboratory sampling confirms that water quality has been fully restored. You may return to normal use of your water service.
The Street and Alley Department has one position left to fill. Pick up your application at City Hall or one can be found on our website pittsfieldil.org
They have the water pressure problem on the west end of town fixed. They will check pressure again in the morning and adjust according if needed.
We are currently working a water pressure issue on the west end of town if you are having issues with water pressure.

AFFECTED AREA: Archer St. West to Kitchen Seed Company and from Washington St. South to the city limits. (See attached Map)
At about 7:30 AM on September 11, 2023, the City of Pittsfield water system in the affected area lost pressure due to the replacement of a leaking regulator assembly on Shetland drive. This caused the affected area of the city to lose volume and fall below the 20 Psi threshold.
The BOIL ORDER will remain in effect until laboratory sampling confirms that water quality has been fully restored. You will receive notification at that time.
Bring tap water to a rolling boil, boil for five minutes, and cool before using. Or use bottled water. Boiled or bottled water should be used for drinking, making ice, washing dishes, brushing teeth, and preparing food until further notice.
As we awake today, we are reminded that on this day 22 years ago 246 people went to sleep in preparation for their morning flights, 2,606 people went to sleep in preparation for work in the morning, 343 firefighters went to sleep in preparation for their morning shift, 60 police officers went to sleep in preparation for morning patrol, 8 paramedics went to sleep in preparation for the morning shift, 3 court officers went to sleep not knowing what they’d encounter the next morning. None of them saw past 10:00am Sept 11, 2001.
In one single moment life may never be the same. As we live and enjoy the breaths we take today and tonight before we go to sleep in preparation for life tomorrow, kiss the ones we love, hold each other a little tighter, and never take one second of life for granted.
