🚧 Downtown Square Traffic Reminder 🚧

The City of Pittsfield would like to apologize for any inconvenience and confusion the downtown square construction has caused. We understand the changes have been an adjustment, and we truly appreciate your patience as this important project moves forward.

Our construction crews are doing everything they can to keep roads open and accessible while safely completing the work. We have attached a map to this post showing the new and permanent direction of traffic around the square.
Please remember that the streets around the square are one lane and one way.

⚠️ Please slow down, use caution, and pay close attention to all posted traffic signs.

Although the project is not yet complete and the pavement markings have not been updated, the traffic pattern is:
➡️ Monroe Street – One lane, one way northbound from Washington Street to Jefferson Street.
⬅️ Adams Street – One lane, one way westbound from Jackson Street to Memorial Street.
⬇️ Madison Street – One lane, one way southbound from Jefferson Street to Washington Street.

Once construction is completed this fall, and the street marking are completed navigating the square will become much easier. The new angled parking layout will provide better parking while allowing the one-way traffic lanes to function more efficiently, making the streets feel less congested.

Thank you for your continued patience and cooperation as we work to improve our downtown square for everyone.

🌟 Business Spotlight Opportunity! 🌟

Since January, the City of Pittsfield has been featuring a different local business each week to help showcase the amazing businesses that make our community special.

We have 14 spotlight opportunities remaining for this year! We have reached out to many businesses throughout the year, but after receiving some declines and no responses—and unfortunately losing our original randomized business list due to computer issues—we're opening the remaining spots to anyone who would like to participate.

If you would like your business to be featured in one of our weekly Business Spotlights, please email bemerick@pittsfieldil.org.

The first 14 businesses to email will receive the remaining spotlight opportunities. Each spotlight is completely free and is a great way to share your story, products, services, and what makes your business unique with our community.

We look forward to hearing from you and continuing to celebrate Pittsfield's local businesses!
